Something about us

Our parish on the West Sussex coast was created in May 2005 from two smaller parishes, and has three churches:

St Peter’s, Shoreham-by-Sea,

Christ the King, Steyning, and

The Towers Convent, Upper Beeding.

The River Adur flows through most of the parish, and that is how we get our name. We are in the Deanery of Worthing in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.

'The parish is part of the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton Diocesan Trust registered charity no.252878.'

Our parish priest is Fr Graham Ricketts, who joined us in October 2014. Fr Graham joined us from Our Lady of Lourdes, Rottingdean, where he was previously Priest In Charge.

From Bishop Richard

Quote from Bishop Richard’s Homily during the Mass of Installation on Thursday 28th May 2015 at Arundel Cathedral:

"In laying down this call afresh today, be assured of my commitment to prayer for you, service to you and – with you – the proclamation of our one subject: the Word who is life."

The whole homily can be read at http://www.abdiocese.org.uk/

We are trialling the recording of homilies within the Parish. If you would like to hear any recent homilies, please visit the Homilies page and browse the available homilies.
