Sunday Masses

Weekday Masses

5.30pm Vigil Mass at The Towers Convent School, Upper Beeding

This Mass always has music, led by Sister Mary Andrew, and, lying centrally between Shoreham, Steyning and Henfield, tends to draw people from all corners.

9am Family Mass at St Peter’s, Shoreham

This Mass is on the lively side, with lots of families and small children. For children between four or so and eight or so, there is a Children’s Liturgy of the Word; once past First Holy Communion, children are encouraged to serve Mass or join the choir, or otherwise participate in the full Mass. Parents with children in the terrible twos might be comforted to know that there is an enclosed chapel where they can hear and see Mass over the roaring of infants. After Mass there is coffee, and a monthly Traidcraft stall.

11am Mass at Christ the King, Steyning

This Mass has music and as much ceremony as can be managed according to the forces available. Families are very welcome (as of course they are to every Mass), but there are no enclosed facilities. There is coffee after Mass in the St Cuthman Room, and also Traidcraft is available from time to time.

6pm Quiet Mass at St Peter’s Shoreham

This is the Mass for those who like quiet, reflective Masses. There is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 5.30, ending with traditional Benediction. After Mass, the bar in the hall is open for an hour or so for people to meet and socialize.

Holy Days of Obligation

The times of Masses can be variable, owing to having schools, so please consult the Newsletter.
